Adjusting to life as an expat

You are looking at a girl who has now successfully shopped for chili ingredients (cumin = Kümmel), washed clothes in a German washing machine (there’s a “cook” option. What.) and totally weirded out the locals by smiling at them.

Things I have not adjusted to: Paying to use public bathrooms, even at McDonalds, dogs that are not required to be on a leash and the tiny, expensive glasses of water you are served at restaurants.

It’s finally cold here, and I am slowly adjusting to using Celsius. But not the metric system, screw you.

You look so pretty. I love that sweater.

  • Glad to hear you are adjusting!! I think it’s crazy they charge so much for water. I would definitely be more dehydrated than I already am if I lived there, ha. I’m guessing the beer is pretty cheap? Also, when I was in Italy, I *hated* paying to use the restroom. Ugh.
