Black ink on blue lines

As my “about me” reveals, I used to wear a lot of black t-shirts and jeans as a teenager. I didn’t care much about style, but I always admired it. I wanted to dress nice, but I hated the attention. It was easier to hide behind a hoodie and minimal makeup.

I like fashion blogs. They showcase a person’s individual style. I admire the pretty blogs with bright colors, adorable graphics and perfectly placed item boards. I’ve tried my best to achieve that colorful lifestyle, but it’s not me. Though my style has evolved (and improved, trust me) I still didn’t feel like myself. I need to follow my instinct and publish work that is reflective of what I like and who I am.

I like dark. I like simple. I like being feminine, though rough. At times, odd.

Maybe it’s the rain, maybe it’s that time of the month, all I know is that I have to be a professional person every week day and I would like to preserve an ounce of who I am when it comes to this blog. If I can no longer dye my hair crazy colors or have a barbell sticking out of my eyebrow, I would like to at least be the meditative, Incubus-loving creative writer that I’ve always been.

Have a wonderful Saturday and thank you for reading.

I think the personality behind the blog is sometimes more enjoyable than the photos. I have a couple fashion blogs that I read because yes, they dress well, but they also have such a great attitude and interesting things to say.
