Gravity, hypocrisy and the perils of being in 3-D

If I can’t wear pants or leggings, I can wear dark colors. I’ve always liked wearing jewel tones because they compliment my skin color and are the next best thing to black. Fall means maroons and plums, and I am not hesitating to add them into my current summer wardrobe as a transition.

Dress: Hollister (similar)
Jacket: American Eagle
Flats: Target
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Necklace: American Eagle
Lips: Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry
Nails: Nicka K in Red Hot

This dress is an old favorite. I was so excited when I bought it because I had recently lost 70 pounds and had always dreamed of fitting into a Hollister dress, as sad as that sounds. My teenage brain was convinced that only skinny pretty girls shopped at stores like Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch, but here I am.

Also, if there is a fan club for Revlon Matte Balms, sign me up. These things are heaven sent for lip-licking girls such as myself. “Sultry” is a muted deep rose and oh so creamy and pigmented. I need one in an eggplant shade. Get on it, Revlon.

Love jean jackets for “in-between” weather and to pair with dresses. Like the frilly details on this dress. Your hair looks gorgeous!

    • I have a love/hate relationship with jean jackets. Sometimes they make an outfit look put together and cool, and other times they make me feel like such a Texan. Like, might as well give me a cowboy hat and a lasso. But yes, I was totally diggin’ it against the frills. Thanks!

  • I love the floral print and colors on your dress.
