Yeah, I’m digging the look of a shirt or jacket tied around the waist. It feels a bit 90’s grunge and is such an easy way to add more texture and shape to jeans and a t-shirt. I swear I’m wearing pants more often now that it’s hot outside, as opposed to last winter when I lived in tights and skirts and froze my ass off.
Simple tops and skirts continue to be the dress code for Houston’s infuriatingly hot weather. I paired two of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe, a chambray top and striped skirt, and finished the look with a statement ring and black flats.
This purse opens really wide to give the illusion of it being capable of holding school books and other impossibly large objects. I love taking it to concerts because I have managed to fit shirts and other merch inside it. It’s every bit as magical as it looks.
The cold weather is appropriate for the mood of this weekend. My boyfriend walked out to his brand new car Friday morning to discover the wheels had been stolen. Later that night we rescued a kitten and found it a new home.
Friday morning left us devastated and questioning humanity, but thanks to an amazing support system, my boyfriend will have new wheels put on Monday. We were able to pay it forward by saving a kitten’s life who had also had a rough day finding shelter from the freezing rain.
I love my chambray shirt, so to make it work all year round I paired it with my favorite pants and boots. The thin shirt is impractical for winter, but I plan to layer it under sweaters and cardigans. I keep my accessories minimal, and usually gravitate towards my Michael Kors watch. I received it as a gift last Christmas and think it is a timeless piece of practical jewelry to have in your collection.
Have a pleasant Saturday and thank you for reading.
