I’ve been feeling winter fat lately, so in addition to cutting back on the Reibekuchen and Kroketten and exercising more regularly, I have been wearing things that don’t make me feel like a sausage trying to squeeze into a wine bottle.
Ah, my happy place. A weightless skirt with a thick elastic band, a loose-fitted sweater, a long coat that covers my hips, boots that accentuate one of the smallest parts of my leg and a scarf that covers my German bakery double chin.
I wear this silhouette a lot because it’s comfortable for me. I can even see a difference in my stance and posture when editing photos from a shoot. I have more photos to work with because I felt more confident and less like I had to stand a certain way to appear longer and less pudgy.
I’m looking forward to cleaning out my closet this spring. I plan to give up certain pieces, such as this jacket, to make way for new styles this year. I like to feel like I got enough wear out of every item in my closet before I decide to give it up. I want to buy more clothes that are high quality, and versatile between seasons.
This outfit reminds me of something they would have worn on All That or the early years of Boy Meets World. These Sam and Libby boots are on the verge of looking Amish, but have the right amount of military feel. I can’t wait to wear them with over-the-knee socks and tights.
Alright, time to read more about ISO. Stupid grain.
Notice anything in the third picture? Something orange with long thin legs? Yeah, I didn’t see this little friend when taking photos. After I saw this I ran to the bathroom to see if it was still on me. Nope. It’s a ninja.
Crochet peplum with a super soft chiffon skirt. Anything with a short hem and sleeves is my friend in this heat. I respect other Houston bloggers who venture out in this humidity. Is it fall yet?
My mom gave me this necklace for Easter and I absolutely love it (thanks, Mom!) because it looks like my little Wesley when he has his full coat in the winter. He recently got his summer cut so he’s a short-haired boy.
I love this little guy so much.
Blood was shed while rolling up the sleeves on this jacket. I sliced my left middle finger open last night and didn’t realize I was bleeding all over myself while struggling to roll up my sleeves. If you look closely on the right sleeve, you may see my internal fluids. Cute.
Have a great Monday (blech) and thank you for reading
I’ve been admiring this Kate Spade Saturday bag for the past few months, but I knew it didn’t completely fit my style. I started researching more about Cambridge satchels because I adore the school bag look. I’ve always wanted a brown leather satchel since the Harry Potter books came out, and was very happy to learn that these bags were created with HP satchels in mind. It’s a bag that I will have for many years and I am excited to age with it.
