Today’s makeup

Deluxe samples, yo. They’re basically my window to new products. Bless Sephora and their points program.

From left to right: Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in Shade 4.0, Jesse’s Girl Eyeshadow Palette in Brown Eyed Girl, NARS Pro-Prime Eyeshadow Base, NARS Concealer in Biscuit, Anastasia Clear Brow Gel, Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara, Benefit Watt’s Up Highlighter, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Ransom, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero, Make Up For Ever Lipstick in Rouge, Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Dark Brown, Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder, Benefit Hervana Blush, Pixi Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched.

Can we talk about how impressed I am with this palette I receive in last month’s Ipsy bag? I usually avoid eyeshadows from brands I’m not familiar with or aren’t raved about on YouTube because I have super sensitive eyes and skin. I once got a stye on my eyelid from bad eyeliner. I live in fear.

Aside from the questionable yellow shade and a couple of the orange colors, this palette has nice neutral, yet shimmery taupe colors that blend so well. Seriously, I think they blend better than the shadows in my Naked 2 palette. Le gasp.

4.1

A neutral eye, surprise surprise. But if you look closely, my eyeliner is a blue-ish purple shade. It’s so pretty in person. Ransom is my favorite Urban Decay eyeliner because of how smoothly it glides on, and how it changes colors depending on the light. It looks dark purple in low light, but glows lavender with flecks of blue in the sunlight. It’s gorgeous. I layered it over zero so it would have a dark undertone, giving it a navy look. Ah, I just love it.

What’s your favorite eyeliner? Do you have any purple shades you recommend?

Today’s Makeup

Keeping it neutral today with my favorite Urban Decay palette. Spoiler alert: It’s not a Naked palette.

I was excited to try my new purple eyeliner and it did not disappoint. I rarely like to wear black eyeliner anymore because it can be too harsh. This kohl pencil from Sephora was a total steal for only $8.

lips

This gloss balm is very pigmented, but I only applied a small amount to tint my lips. I’ve been licking my lips a lot this winter and didn’t want to waste a good lipstick. I’m glued to my Nivea lip butter as a back up.

I love my Urban Decay Ammo Palette, and I’m eager to try the Naked 3 palette. Do any of you have it? What’s your review?

Smoked Taupe

I love my LORAC Pro Palette more than all the Urban Decay Naked palettes combined. It has a perfect blend of shimmery and matte shadows, and multi-use shades ranging from neutrals to jewel tones.

I rarely wear heavy eye makeup, so I created this subdued smokey eye using purple, gold, and brown to create a taupe shade.

makeup 1

I applied my Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin (see my review here), and then swept Mauve into my crease and all over my lid. I then patted Deep Purple on my lid and deepened my crease with Sable, making sure to blend the colors until I achieved a nice gradient.

8

I lined my eyes with my Starlooks eyeliner in Obsidian and applied Benefit’s They’re Real! mascara.

10

I finished the look with my favorite MAC lipstick, Creme Cup.

9

I think this a great look for fall for those who want to try a smokey eye but are afraid of dark colors. I love finding new ways to wear darker shadows with glasses that don’t make me look like a raccoon.

What’s your favorite palette to experiment with?

Today’s makeup

I didn’t realize how much pink I had put on my face today until I took these pictures. I’m going to keep my shimmery eyes and pink lips since I’ll be wearing an Alison DiLaurentis mask tonight for my “Red Coat” costume. Any Pretty Little Liars fans out there?

Mascara, theBalm Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow, Revlon ColorStay Foundation in 240 Medium Beige, Milani Blush in Luminoso

I patted the MICA Shimmer Powder all over my eyelid and defined my crease and the outer lid with my Matt(e) eyeshadow. I finished with black eyeliner on my top and bottom waterline and a generous amount of mascara. My cheeks and my lips nearly matched, but Luminoso just adds a nice healthy glow.

I hope you all have a safe Halloween!

Makeup and glasses

My initial thought before taking these photos was, “Should I take my glasses off for this?”

I rarely see blogs featuring women who wear glasses on a daily basis showcasing their makeup. I often have to search for makeup tutorials on YouTube and other makeup blogs for “makeup for glasses” tips. So, naturally, I decided against it.

In addition to shamelessly snapping photos of myself, I received a package in the mail today filled with shoes I ordered from Urban Outfitters that are way too cool for my feet. As someone who wears flats on a daily basis, I think I am most in love with my new booties, a shoe type I have never owned before.

Who can honestly say no to a “take an extra 50% off clearance” sale? Not me, apparently.

I hope you’re having a great Tuesday. Thank you for reading.
