As a Dauntless member, I would maintain my femininity with blouses and jewelry. Legging-like pants would allow me to maneuver and climb when needed. My symbol is the star because, well, I already have one tattooed on me so hey, convenience.
Which faction would you be in? What would your style be?
Today is the last day to enter my Divergent makeup kit giveaway. The winner will be notified and announced Wednesday. Good luck.
This sweater makes me feel like Zooey Deschanel, or at least Jess from New Girl. I love the bow detail on the collar and it’s cut short enough to wear with circle skirts. I bought it before Gilly Hicks stopped making clothes, an unfortunate decision on their part.
Excuse me while I research how to shoot photos indoors properly without having to resort to going outside at the end of the day in super cold weather.
I have a new job! After a year of searching, I’ve secured employment at Rice University and couldn’t be more excited. I’m also moving in with my boyfriend in two weeks. Changes!
The boyfriend and I had a busy weekend of shopping for white elephant gifts, making chicken and dumplings, taking my puppy to the vet, and admiring the decorations at the mall surrounded by chattering Christmas shoppers. I now have more presents to wrap and tree-shaped Reeses to avoid eating.
I’ll miss having the Houston skyline in view, but I’m looking forward to my new beginnings. I’m nervous about starting somewhere new, as always, but I know that this is a step in the right direction. The ultimate goal is to be writing novels as my day job, but that will take time, effort, and perseverance. This new job is a happy reminder that I am capable.
Have a fantastic Sunday and thank you for reading.
The cold weather is appropriate for the mood of this weekend. My boyfriend walked out to his brand new car Friday morning to discover the wheels had been stolen. Later that night we rescued a kitten and found it a new home.
Friday morning left us devastated and questioning humanity, but thanks to an amazing support system, my boyfriend will have new wheels put on Monday. We were able to pay it forward by saving a kitten’s life who had also had a rough day finding shelter from the freezing rain.
I love my chambray shirt, so to make it work all year round I paired it with my favorite pants and boots. The thin shirt is impractical for winter, but I plan to layer it under sweaters and cardigans. I keep my accessories minimal, and usually gravitate towards my Michael Kors watch. I received it as a gift last Christmas and think it is a timeless piece of practical jewelry to have in your collection.
Have a pleasant Saturday and thank you for reading.
