The print on this dress makes me so happy. It reminds me of pixelated candy. Fun fact about these wedges: they’re too big. I’ve been searching for ways to make them more snug because I hate sending clothing back through the mail. Do you have any tricks you use for ill-fitting shoes?
Have a great Friday (how could you not, it’s Friday) and thank you for reading.
I’ve been admiring this Kate Spade Saturday bag for the past few months, but I knew it didn’t completely fit my style. I started researching more about Cambridge satchels because I adore the school bag look. I’ve always wanted a brown leather satchel since the Harry Potter books came out, and was very happy to learn that these bags were created with HP satchels in mind. It’s a bag that I will have for many years and I am excited to age with it.
If I could steal any fictional character’s wardrobe, it would definitely be Robin Scherbatsky’s from How I Met Your Mother. I love her feminine corporate style of sharp blazers over billowy blouses with fitted jeans and heels. But every so often there’s one piece she wears that makes me immediately Google it on my phone.
So damn pretty! I don’t consider myself short, but I definitely don’t think I have the height needed for this length of a gown. I’ve stayed away from maxi dresses because I don’t think they would suit my size and shape. However, the cinched waist on this gown is extremely flattering and the halter neck is a classy alternative to the usual v-neck cut maxi’s.
Considering this gown is sold out and completely out of my price range, I found a few similar alternatives for any special occasions this summer.
I like that these dresses have a slightly fuller skirt. This is ideal for apple shapes such as myself who don’t like to wear anything tight throughout the waist and hips. If I put on my big girl panties and wore this dress, I would pair it with rose gold sandal heels and dainty bracelets for an evening look.
Do you prefer shorter or longer gowns? How do you style your maxi dresses?
A little bit of gloom, a little bit school girl uniform. This white button up from AE is one of my favorites because it’s such a lightweight breathable piece. I was inspired by the large window in my living room and the overcast sky to play with lighting and shadow in these photos. It’s a little different, but I like it.
I did it. I bought jeggings. After years of judging, I actually bought a pair and my god are they the most comfortable pair of pants I’ve ever owned. I even tweeted my praise to @AEO this morning and got a pleasant response. Let’s face it, they’re awesome. (Not just saying this because I’m competing in Project Live Your Life.) (I actually do love AE.) (A lot.)
I fell in love with this heart print when I first saw it on the popular Burberry shirts, and pretty much lost it when I saw this dress online. The fabric is light and soft, and I can’t help but be in the Valentine’s mood when wearing it.
I’m so glad my birthday is in February because I adore this short little month. It is unusually warm today, and I am writing to you from my parent’s home waiting for my party guests. Turning 25 is a big deal for me, especially since I don’t usually see the appeal of birthdays. As a kid, I always admired those who were 25-30, because they seemed to have everything figured out. Now that I’m here, I feel so accomplished and proud of who I have become. Thank you to everyone who visits my little blog, and I look forward to spending more birthdays with you.
Much like brie cheese and That 70’s Show, I love skirts with pockets.
This is my first purchase from Madewell and definitely not my last. The skirt is made of a thick wool but lined with a soft chiffon blend. The large striped pattern and pleats makes me feel like a Hispanic Zooey Deschanel.
I enjoy outfits that have little quirky details. The bow and arrow necklace is a fun gold accent to a dark outfit. If I were attending a formal event, I would exchange the necklace with something larger and swap my flats for heels and layer a nice jacket. I love the versatility of this skirt and the heavy material and neutral color makes it a new staple in my wardrobe. Not to mention I bought it for $25 when it was originally $118. Holla.
