Dotted line

This is a shirt I typically wear to work, and I appreciate its dual functionality as a professional piece, yet simple enough to pair with jeans and a statement necklace.

There’s something about these jeggings that look great in the mirror, but don’t translate well in these pictures. Maybe it’s the angle? I struggled with these photos because I couldn’t get over my magnified thighs. I appreciate their stretch, thin material and everlasting dark wash, but I’m feeling a little betrayed today. Maybe it’s just me. It’s just me.

If you blog, how do you get over insecurities in photos? I figure the best I can do is put them out there, because I know how great I felt wearing the outfit. Maybe it’ll inspire someone else my size to give the tight jeans a try.

Mother’s Day

Cheers to a mom who has put up with me and my journey through school, work and becoming a self-sufficient human being. Not many are blessed with that kind of support, and I am forever thankful for the generous, helpful and loving person she is. She has been my biggest supporter since the beginning of this blog. I wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for her patience and guidance through a difficult time after graduation. Thank you, Mom.

Get your sunglasses because today’s outfit is bright.

Skirt: Aeropostale
Shoes: Modcloth
Necklace: Baublebar (nearly identical)
Rings: Forever 21

Maybe it’s the Mexican in me, but I was so excited when I saw this skirt in Bethany Mota’s recent Aeropostale collection. I know, I know, I’m 25 and essentially wearing junior’s clothes, but it’s just so summery and amazing.

Also, these wedges. I can’t stop wearing them. However, black velvet encasing your feet in 90+ degree weather is not ideal. My feet felt like they were in an oven when we visited my grandmother’s graves. This may be the shoe gods telling me to buy sandals. I have my eye on these little cuties.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms. My child is a 17 pound Westie that refused to poop during his afternoon walk. Animal moms need love too.
