The heat, humidity and a closet full of repeat pieces has put me in a style rut. Like every other annoying blogger, I’m already planning my fall wardrobe and rethinking what I will buy this year. I want to update my style, but not stray too far from what I like.
This is part one in a three-part series on how I plan to make subtle changes to pieces I wear often. I believe in practical changes, not wobbling around in stilettos and pencil skirts claiming to be comfortable for the sake of fashun.
I wear flats on a daily basis, and typically keep them affordable and simple for work and weekends. I recently threw away my well-loved Target flats, and want to step away from my usual rounded toe flats and experiment with a point.
I carry my super cheap, beat up Forever 21 black satchel everyday, and it just needs to be put to rest. Until I can completely commit to saving for my coveted PS1 satchel, I know Cambridge and Rebecca Minkoff are dependable brand options. My focus is ease of access for when I need to quickly take my phone out and, you know, make sure my Kim Kardashian Hollywood character isn’t getting anything less than four stars at her Punta Mita photoshoot.
I’m not quite ready to ditch statement necklaces, but I’m looking forward to a monochrome fall wardrobe complete with layered mixed metal pieces. I adore Free People’s current selection of jewelry, and couldn’t help compiling my favorites.
Ta-da. Stuff I want to buy. Cool.
Do you have any fall style updates planned?
