Am I kawaii yet?

I am often inspired by modern Japanese and Korean fashion. Most notably, I really like the look of long layered pieces draped over or slightly tucked into slim pants or flouncy skirts.

I think it looks balanced and interesting, and I am still experimenting with this silhouette despite having a larger frame and thicker legs.

The delicate netting of this top caught my eye at Zara. It’s fulfilling my need for spring but is thin enough to layer under a thick cardigan and coat since it’s still technically winter. The high neck is a pretty little peek-a-boo detail under my coat, and it has high slits on both sides.

I layered a short black skirt under the top to add tiers, and in the warmer months I plan to replace it with a more flirty skirt in a color similar to the top to create the illusion of a dress.

I matched the gold in the zipper of my boots with a gold pinky ring and thin necklace.

Over-the-knee tights and leather boots kept my legs warm on this breezy March day.
