Taking a break from black and giving nude boots a try

No one notices or cares, but I’m tired of wearing black on the bottom of every outfit this winter. I typically reach for black tights and boots or black jeans because they’re flattering and easy to work with. But this year I want to test my style a bit and try new things. We’ll see how long that lasts.

I originally wanted a pair of dark brown or gray booties, but saw this type of boot enough on Instagram and Pinterest to make me want to give it a try. I think they look better with bare legs and sundresses, but it’s still too early in the year to pretend it’s warm enough outside for that. I’m looking at you, popular fashion bloggers. Wearing sundresses late February to keep up with trends. Aren’t you cold?

I like them, but I think I’ve managed to make my legs look even shorter with the cuffed ankle hem. I maybe won’t wear this look again but instead buy a pair of nude tights so I can start wearing these boots with dresses and skirts. I’m just not a pants fan.

Even though it was 4 degree Celsius, 39 degrees Fahrenheit outside, I was warm in this plaid sweater. It’s extremely thick and has enough draped fabric to bundle up in.

This was my first time wearing these boots out, and of course I got them dirty during this shoot. How do you clean mud off suede? I’m an idiot.
