Wrapped in Sequins

Every year I tell myself that I am going to buy a sequin dress for New Years and never do. I try them on at the store, but get too shy about wearing them in public.

THIS ENDS NOW.

I’m still on the hunt for the perfect sequin dress, but these three have caught my eye.

Depending on where you live, it may be too cold to wear these dresses as is. I suggest wearing a blazer, such as this one from H&M. It’s not exactly a breakthrough in fashion, but it’s a classic look and easy to wear. These dresses are also short enough to be worn tunic-style over leggings for colder areas, and would be a nice peekaboo sparkle under the over sized puffy parka you’ll have to live in until April. I’ve been there.

If a sequined dress is too much for you, I suggest blinding everyone with your feet. Bar hoppers will think you stole the ball from Times Square when you stumble in wearing these babies. I said stumble because I assume you’ll be drinking and let’s face it, you’ll wear the heels despite how much they hurt and end up taking a cab back home, your glittery heels in one hand, a pair of Tieks now sitting comfortably on your feet.

Ooooh aaaahhh. Pretty. Sparkly. Shiny. That is all.

Have you decided on what you’re going to wear for New Years? Do you have any great plans? Will this be the year YOU wear a sparkly dress? Let me know!

Have a great Thursday and thank you for reading.

  • GET that sequin dress and WEAR IT, girl! No more chickening out 🙂 I got a sequin dress for an event back in March, and I’ll probably wear it to a wedding later in the month or for NYE. If you can’t go sparkly on New Years, then when can you, amiright?!
